Winding Down
Welp, the application is in. There's nothing else to do but let the reality set in that there are other classes I've been neglecting all this time.
Here's a few figure drawing that I submitted:
So... yeah. Fingers crossed.

Two Weeks...
Two weeks from today is the deadline for the application to the BYU Animation program. I'm freaking out a little bit, but that's probably a good thing; fear is a great motivator. I have about 100 sketchbook pages to fill in, several figure drawings to make, and some 3D work to do over the next couple weeks. It's a lot to do and I hope I can get it all done on top of my regular classes. As long as I stay focused I should be fine. I hope.

Evolution of a Character
So i thought I'd share a character I've been working on for a while and how he's developed over the past few months.
I got the idea for this guy back in the fall. He's a Bruce Lee enthusiast with no exceptional attributes thrown into tournament to the death with a bunch of bloodthirsty, super-powered... people. I don't know. It's a work in progress. Anyway, Here's the earliest drawing I know of that I made:
It was done in my spiral notebook, I later started doing some drawings of him in my sketchbook and experimented with some shading:
So I finally got something I liked and sketched out a model sheet:
Finally I did some sketches of various expressions, building consistency in the features and practicing emotions in general:
There you have it, that's generally the process I go through when creating a new character.

Meh. I did some more sketches, refining the design each time:

First!
You are currently reading the first post of my new blog. The purpose of this blog is to share my art, post info about any projects I may be working on, either for myself, school, or anything else. My hope is to get helpful feedback as I hone my skills in my chosen craft.
To start off, here's some select gesture drawings I've done over the past few weeks in my Figure Drawing for Animators class:
Constructive criticism is welcome and encouraged. Hopefully I'll be updating this blog regularity, so I'll see you next post!
